Benefit Advisors, Inc. was
established with years of planning and real life
case studies. Initially, Insurance Office of
Raymond N. Strickland, Jr., Inc. was founded as a
sole proprietorship in 1986 and was owned and
operated by the founder Raymond N. Strickland, Jr.
The agency operated from The Equitable Assurance
Company office, but within a year moved to the Chazal-Blair Insurance Agency, a well established
property & casualty firm. |

In 1995 the Lossing
Insurance Agency, Inc., another local well established
property & casualty firm requested that Ray Strickland
move his office to their location on Fort King Street,
Ocala, Florida.
In 2001 the Lossing
Strickland Insurance Group was formed as a d/b/a for
Lossing Insurance Agency, Inc. and Insurance Office of
Raymond N. Strickland, Jr, Inc. Each firm remained in
the same corporate structure and no new shares were
issued. The same year the 5,500 square foot
headquarters was constructed, with ownership by the
Lossing Trust, split equally between the three
Principals.
In 2004 an
additional 4 sales offices were added to the 1724 S.E.
17th Avenue building, under the same ownership held in
the Lossing trust. Another unit of property, 1.1 acres
was purchased on S.E. 18th Avenue, for further
expansion. This property can support an 8,000 to 10,000
square foot building, and is still part of the Deerwood
Professional Office Park.
In 2005 Benefit Advisors'
corporate office is located in Ocala, Florida with
offices throughout the state in Jacksonville,
Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee, Inverness, Daytona and Gainesville.
